Programmes and Learnerships

CBM training offers a variety of Learnerships and PIVOTAL programmes. Our unique approach to the learnerships will assist you in your skills development needs, whilst keeping your budget, staff complements and organisational goals in mind.

All of our PIVOTAL programmes can be offered on-site or through our scheduled public programmes Our guided RPL Learnerships (RPL) allow companies to send administrative staff on assessment preparation workshops, while working towards a national qualification. To date we have successfully trained 695 learners.

This Guided RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) in Generic Management NQF Level 4 Learnership allows companies to send supervisors, new managers and junior managers on 7 short workshops that will aid them in compiling 5 Portfolios of EVidence (PoE). Delegates will attend a series of workshops where they will be guided to complete Portfolios of Evidence based on their experience in the workplace.

Course Requirements:

Registration is available to delegates who have at least 2 years in a supervisory position and are competent in communication, maths and computers at NQF 3 (Grade 11 or higher).

BEE Benefits:

Skills development is a priority element which amounts to 20 points (and 5 bonus points) of the total scorecard points. The minimum of 40% of the points within this element must be scored to avoid dropping a level.

Companies can only score points on skills development if there is sufficient evidence indicating that previously disadvantaged are being trained in scarce and critical skills. This means that a company can include training conducted on any person that satisfies the definition of black as per the BEE Codes of Good Practice regardless of employment status.

What can you Claim?

You can claim the R 20, 350 paid per learner back as a “Mandatory Grant” from your Skills Development Levy. As CBM Training is a registered FET college, and this process leads to a qualification, this can form part of your PIVOTAL training claim. You may be able to claim the learner’s salary for the duration of the learnership.

In addition, you can submit a claim to your SETA for a Discretionary Grant per learner, which will be paid directly to you if successful. However, these Grants are not always awarded, so they should be treated as an “Extra” when considering the business case for a Learnership.

Optional: Augmented RPL Support Learnership Programmes


All of the Guided RPL Learnerships on this page can be booked as an Augmented Support Programme, provided that you have 5 or more delegates.
The augmented programme features an extra 7 days of PoE coaching, pre-booked telephonic support and up to 3 extra re-assessments.

The cost for any of these as an Augmented RPL Learnership is R50 000 per person excluding VAT.
